Description

One of the many roles that a product manager plays is sharing information. Incorporating and displaying data the right way greatly influences how the information shared is received. During this session we'll talk through some basic Tufte information display best practices as well as share some Juice Analytics design principles. The participant will walk away with some practical examples and tools to improve their data presentations.

Michel Gullett has spent the past 15 years leading the design and implementation of data and reporting solutions. His experience includes working with structured and unstructured data across consumer goods, telecommunications and government industries. Currently, Michel leads Juice’s customer development efforts.

We'll host a panel of various design competencies including, UX, information and industrial design. The panel will offer some background on the different design competencies as well as how product managers may be able to leverage each in their day to day jobs.

Harold Ball is the founder of 5x5 and an analytics strategy consultant and serial entrepreneur with over twenty years of experience applying advanced math to solve challenging big data problems in marketing, finance and operations. He holds a BA in Economics from The University of the South, and an MS and PhD in Economics from Georgia State University. He is a frequent university lecturer, and serves as an Advisor to Georgia Institute of Technology’s Advanced Technology Development Center.

Sherry Heyl started working exclusively on social media projects in 2005 (before Facebook was open to the public). Early projects included monitoring social media to identify competition and market opportunities for start-up clients, providing online reputation management guidance for ADP and working with AutoTrader.com on a blogger relations project as well as assisted in developing their internal social media platform. These projects led to leading Brand Atlanta's award-winning "How Do You ATL" social media campaign and managing Public Broadcasting of Atlanta's social community outreach program, Lens on Atlanta. Sherry has worked extensively with non-profits building awareness and leading fundraising and volunteer recruitment campaigns, including Atlanta Children's Shelter, Center for the Visually Impaired, and Communities In Schools of Georgia. Sherry is the Co-Founder of SoCon, Atlanta's premiere and longest running social media conference. Sherry was also the Co-Founder of the TAG Enterprise 2.0 society (renamed TAG Social Business) and the Co-Founder of The Change Challenge, a 6 month competition that paired volunteers with nonprofits to launch a sustainable social media program.
